The Custom Temporary luggage rack is built around a full size 900 mm or 35 inch wide load platform for generous loading capacity.
The load platform is of fully brazed construction for an aesthetically clean appearance combined with maximum strength. The luggage rack includes four side clamps and two leading edge clamps, plus four suction pads to provide the security necessary on a high performance car. Uniquely the two leading edge clamps are designed to prevent possible backslip at high speeds or when carrying cargo with high windload. The six attachment clamps are custom engineered to fit comfortably around the narrow 2.6 mm shut lines of the Mazda's boot lid without fouling the car's bodywork. The clamps include protective rubber inserts to shield the Mazda's paint from damage. |
The removable luggage rack is compatible with MX5 RFs fitted with a spoiler and a boot mounted radio aerial. There is no need to remove the luggage rack when operating the roof mechanism. Available in either a satin black finish, or in a highly polished finish with mirror polished stainless steel fittings and Allen type hardware. The rack also includes welded tie down attachment points for use with our optional quick release luggage straps which are available separately if required. Produced in the UK. The Custom Permanent luggage rack uses two mirror polished stainless steel supports to disperse the luggage weight evenly through the boot lid. The loading platform has a mirror polished finish to BS EN 9001:2008 quality standard. Supplied with mirror polished stainless steel Allen security fittings and rubber seals. Can be reverse mounted with the upstand nearer the passenger compartment, or alternatively at the rear of the car (as shown in the photo).
